Have you reviewed your "Musician Personal Profile" page lately?

Media producers and music buyers often like to know more about the backgrounds of the musicians/composers who create the production music for MusicRevolution.com. It is for this reason that we enable each musician to create their own personal profile page. Your "Musician Personal Profile", which is your own webpage on MusicRevolution.com, is a great way to share something about your background, your musical style and who or what has influenced you music. If a music buyer likes one of your stock music tracks and/or your musical style, your "Musician Personal Profile" page also provides a link to show all of your tracks on MusicRevolution.com. We also recommend including an "Avatar" or image on your "Musician Personal Profile" page that helps to make you and your royalty-free music more recognizable.

To view your "Musician Personal Profile" page, log-in and go to "My Account" and under "Musicians" click on the last icon "My Profile Page". Make sure that your profile page is complete and descriptive, and that it includes an interesting "Avatar" to make you and your music more recognizable and memorable.

Thanks for letting us sell your music!

    MusicRevolution.com Member,

Afew weeks ago we informed you about our plans to revise our production music subscription offerings. These revisions, which have now been implemented, result in substantially higher prices and royalties per download for our subscriptions, which will benefit our musicians.

We made these changes in response to concerns that we heard from some musicians that the pricing of the MusicRevolution.com production music subscription offering was too low and that their production music was being devalued.

Here is a recap of our revised production music subscriptions which are now in effect:

--Our revised production music subscription offerings--

1-month subscription providing up to 10 tracks for $249.99

1-year subscription providing up to 50 tracks for $699.99

We believe that our revised subscriptions are still a great value for production music buyers.

We are also evaluating the creation of a lower priced subscription offering that would only include the tracks that musicians have priced at $9.99 and $29.99. We will keep you posted about our plans for this proposed offering.

Thanks for participating in the MusicRevolution.com production music marketplace.

Since our launch, we have heard concerns from some musicians that the pricing of the MusicRevolution.com production music subscription offering is too low and that they have concerns that their music is being devalued. Within the next few weeks we will be revising our subscription offerings which will result in substantially higher prices and royalties per download which will benefit musicians.

Here is a comparison of where we are and what the changes will look like:

--Our current production music subscription offerings--

1-month subscription providing up to 10 tracks for $199.99

1-year subscription providing up to 120 tracks for $599.99

After working through a number of different product/pricing scenarios for subscriptions that would address musician concerns about devaluing production music and at the same time still enable us to offer products that are competitive in the marketplace, we have arrived at the following revised subscription offerings--

--Our revised production music subscription offerings--

1-month subscription providing up to 10 tracks for $249.99

1-year subscription providing up to 50 tracks for $699.99

We are also evaluating the creation of a lower priced subscription offering that would only include the tracks that musicians have priced at $9.99 and $29.99. We will keep you posted about our plans for this proposed offering.

We believe that we are making great progress in getting the word out in the stock music market about MusicRevolution.com. And when people visit the site, the feedback is that we have great production music. This, of course, is thanks to all of you!

We often see the same issues come up when submitted tracks need some adjustments. In those cases, we usually have to ask the musician to make some changes. To help your approval process go smoother, here are tips to help ensure a smooth approval process:

    1. Enter only one item into the “Influenced By” fields. Those 3 fields are intended for you to enter the name of ONE influence (i.e. musical artist, film, TV show) per field. If you have extra existing metadata to share, please enter it into the “Description” field.

    2. Strip out any SKU numbers or extra information in your track titles in the “Basic Info” section of the “Tags/Metadata” page. We have our own sku numbers and your tracks will look better online without the extra clutter.

    3. Only enter information in the “Additional Owner” fields if someone OTHER THAN YOU needs to receive a royalty split. If the entire royalty payment should go to the account holder , then leave it blank.

Musicians often ask us what kind of musicial styles they should submit. Here are 3 good tips from our FAQ page:

    1. Cheer Up: You can never go wrong with an upbeat, positive-sounding track using live instruments. "Angry" has its place in our catalog, but it's not nearly requested as much as something happy and energetic.

    2. Embrace Cliches: To help tell their story, our customers are always looking for very cleanly-produced, stereotypical renditions of niche styles such as Mariachi, Polka, Native American, Bluegrass and more. The idea here isn't to innovate, but rather pay tribute to these styles and help our customers paint an instant musical picture for their audience.

    3. Embrace Your Past: If you're last name begins "Mc" and you've got bagpipes in the basement, then, by golly, go record "Amazing Grace". If you've still got that djembe from your foggy drum circle days, then set up a mic and start building some percussion tracks. Grew up in church? Bring on the gospel hymns. Most musicians have at least one style of music embedded in their genes. What's yours?

A lot of musicians ask for guidance in pricing their tracks.  Here's what our FAQ says:

Our $49.99 default price for a standard license is what we think the current market can bear. That said, no two musicians are the same. You may want to test a few of your tracks at higher and lower prices and analyze the results. Changing your prices on our site is easy. In the end the numbers will guide you.
