In January 2013 we featured Matteo Bosi of Alchemy Studio in Parma, Italy in one of our blogs. Bosi and Alchemy Studio cover a range of different genres of music, including romantic and sentimental music. At that time Matteo told us that his favorite track was–

Romantic Rock Solo Guitar 2

http://www.musicrevolution.com/search/?trackid=31236

We asked Matteo why this track was so special. Matteo said, “I wrote this song when I fell in love with my girlfriend. Fortunately, she really liked it and we are still together now!”

As we fast forward to October 2013, Matteo has informed us that he and his girlfriend are getting married later this month. I guess this track helped Matteo tell his girlfriend how he really felt!

Matteo Bosi and Alchemy Studio have 40 tracks on MusicRevolution.com. Here is link to all of his tracks–

We thank Matteo for sharing some of his music with us and we wish Matteo and his girlfriend a lifetime of love and happiness. The next time you need royalty-free romantic music or royalty-free sentimental music that is truly from the heart, check out Alchemy Studio’s tracks on MusicRevolution.com.

Back when I was writing music I would take pride in giving my tracks really crazy names (Check out our free music page to see what I mean). So in this new role as a publisher I’ve decided to start creating track lists with really crazy names. Why not?

Dr. Robert E. Emery, Ph.D. says that “[Children of divorce can] become depressed, anxious, or become perhaps overly responsible kids who end up caring for their parents instead of getting cared for by them.” When my parents got divorced I was 7 years old. And as I sat in school all I could hear in my head…loudly..were songs from Jethro Tull’s Songs from the Wood. That happened to be the album my teenage brother was playing alot at the time. Henceforth, these MusicRevolution.com tracks sound nothing like Jethro Tull.

Here is a list of MusicRevolution.com tracks I like to call “Music to Drown Out the Sound of Parents Fighting”

This track list features music by:

Steve Rice Music

Fatima Mhedden

When you’re trying to create supporting elements in your track like
cymbal rolls & hits, it’s easy to get in a rut and rely on the same
handful of sounds over and over again. Especially if you’re like me and
save that kind of thing for the very end.

For a while it seemed like the most often-used sample CD in my library was
“Trancefusion” by ILIO Sounds. That audio CD is nothing but hundreds of
swirls, sweeps and swells. It was the easiest way to signal to the
listener “Hey! We’re going back into that cool part now.”

So you can imagine my appreciation when a kick-ass pop music track is
supported that way by nothing more than the inspired and well-timed
turning of a single knob….the white noise filter.

Check out “Wide Awake” by Katy Perry. Pay particular attention to the
white noise (or “whooshing” sounds) that begin at 1:06 and continue
through 1:56:

This element is genius because it thinks big picture: Listen to how it
sneaks in during the verse, swells into the first chorus and then
continues to open up even wider. By the time Katy starts singing the
second verse you’ve got a full-blown hurricane on your hands. That’s
why it’s so dramatic when it goes away.

White noise, by definition, includes every frequency in the sonic
spectrum. When it’s wide open, you can’t miss it. That’s why the CIA
uses it to mask conversations. That’s why a thin slice of it in your
audio editor can be used as a snare drum hit.

Here’s an example of a white noise filter sweep, all by itself, being
generated by the venerable electronic music software Ableton Live:

And here’s an example of white noise filtering where it all began, in
progressive trance tracks like this (listen carefully at :19):

“Trance Piece” by Peter Roe

Often it’s the simplest and most basic musical ideas that
resonate most with an audience. As a music producer, one must tip their
hat when such things are accomplished….and consider those ideas for
their own music.

Kudos to producers Dr. Luke and Cirkut for adding this incredibly
powerful sonic effect to this outstanding pop song. A song about
hitting bottom and starting over.

Background:

Joey Stebanuk is an instrumentalist who composes in various genres and styles including Rock, Pop, DreamScape, Cross genre, Down tempo, Blues, Acoustic and Electric, Country, Americana, full instrumentation and solo, all performed on real instruments and guitar based. Joey is known for his outstanding versatility delivering authentic and convincing performances within all his genres. Joey’s music has unique character and a personal style high in mood, emotion and personality. Joey’s music has been placed on MTV programming, in feature films, commercials, corporate videos, DVDs, photography videos, web videos and is also being used in various venues as background music.

Some Questions We Asked Joey–

–High profile projects or clients you have worked for?

I have music placed in MTV programing, An H&M fashion advertisement, music in “Natsha Kizmet:The Movie”, a trailer for novelist Ronald Herron ” Master Story Teller “, tracks used by multiple Emmy award nominee Ed Wiseman. I also recently been commissioned by record label Afirm Records to compose and record all the music for poet Andria Kidd’s new CD to be released in 2014. And many high profile corporate videos.

–Primary instrument?

Electric guitar is my primary instrument. Except for drum programming (which are samples of a real drummer) I use all real instruments going into a digital work station. I don’t use virtual instruments, music construction kits, sample CDs or compose computer generated music, and that’s how I promote myself, as an alternative and option to computer generated music. I lean towards old school.

–Piece of gear or software you wish you owned?
Various ethnic instruments and a nice grand piano!

–Film score or song you admire? Why?
Hey Joe by Jimi Hendrix. I first heard the song when I was twelve years old. The tone of the guitar, the high emotion, the way he sang it, the melody, the compositional value, everything about it! It had the most impact on me of any song or musical experience until this day! That was when I decided I was going to be a guitarist, even though I never knew how to play any instrument at the time.

Music education background?
I’m self taught in everything I do or have done.

Memorable “Aha!” moment during your musical education?
Two moments actually. The art of musical guitar phrasing versus technical brilliance. After I went through the technical brilliance stage and realized it was musical phrasing and song composition that made me the happiest and resulted in my strongest material and that is also when people started taking notice and I started to gain success. The loud “volume” thing in today’s recordings is another one. I quit the loudness level a long time ago as I couldn’t stand the “more volume than sound” in much of today’s recordings. I always leave some head room in my recordings to retain the sweetness, tone, dynamics, etc. It also gives editors room to work with, so if they need to turn the music up or down it will still sound good, and they appreciate that.

–Most embarrassing music-related moment?
More than a few! But one that stands out is back in my touring days, we were performing at this packed club, I was in a middle of a very hot guitar solo, the crowd was digging it and all eyes were glued on me, i also had a bad cold. In the middle of the solo I started to sneeze and wound up with about a foot long booger hanging out of my nose! The crowd cracked! That incident made me a legend in that town, LOL!

–If you had a time machine and could record or perform once with any artist, who would it be?
Two– Jimi Hendrix and Jeff Beck.

Moment you first knew you would be a musician?

As I stated above, at twelve years old when I first heard Jimi Hendrix and his “Are You Experienced” album.

Five songs or albums you’d take with you to a desert island?
Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix

Anything by Jeff Beck

The Wall by Pink Floyd

Machine Head by Deep Purple

Thick as a Brick by Jethro Tull.

–If you could master another instrument, what would it be?
The piano.

–Favorite time of day to work in your studio?
It depends on the mood of the music. Anything energetic it can be at any time of the day. Anything very deep, moody and inventive. I like to work late at night.

–Some of your favorite tracks that you would want us to feature in the blog.
That’s a tough one as I do several genres! Just to show versatility I will choose these three–

“Dancing with Shadows”

http://www.musicrevolution.com/search/?keyword=Dancing+with+Shadows&application=0&mood=0&genre=0&instrument=0&influence=&vocals=1&results=20&x=43&y=4

http://www.musicrevolution.com/search/?keyword=The+Tumbleweed+Swing&application=0&mood=0&genre=0&instrument=0&influence=&vocals=1&results=20&x=38&y=9

Electronica is a broad term that encompasses a huge number of contemporary music styles, all of which clearly and audibly were created by or with computers and electronics. Not just the blips, beeps and sweeps of the original Micro Moog, but even acoustic music that’s been wonderfully mangled by the hands of a skilled digital audio whiz.
